Knockout tasks players with eliminating their opponents or holding a package in the middle of the map. It’s also a round-based mode with attackers and defenders. There are no respawns, but fallen players can be revived. ![]() The former has players locating hostages, defending them, and exfiltrating with them. Prisoner Rescue and Knockout are also two new modes. RELATED: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Early Access Beta Code Giveaway It’s 20-on-20, but each team also has 20 A.I. that roams around like some sort of massive deathmatch. It takes place on a big map and the only objective is to eliminate other players and the A.I. Invasion is one of the new multiplayer modes. As shown in its recent trailer, players can now unlock attachment across multiple guns, which should lessen the grind. Gunsmith has also been stepped up, as detailed in the incredibly long post on the game’s site. There’s are a ton of new gadgets or old ones that have been improved or balanced, such as the heartbeat sensor which now has a battery so it can’t be used indefinitely. However, it can only be used after a tactical sprint. Diving also has some lift to it this time around, meaning that it’s possible to dive out of windows in a pinch. Players were shown hanging off a rooftop and firing on those standing on said rooftop, with those hanging being more concealed. There’s also a new ledge hanging mechanic that lets users peek above ledges instead of fully mantling over them. Firefights can even happen underwater, but the ballistics are a bit different. Sport games get talked about how they are simply “another roster update” with maybe a minor addition (Madden gets concussion this year, Tiger got Augusta, NBA got canned! lol). Like you mention, perhaps it is just games that has this same perception of wanting them to be different and provide more surprise for the consumer. Fast & The Furious hitting 5 movies is a few too many, but again they were at least reasonably spaced out. Too many sequels can be wrong also and a trilogy is probably the fit for alot of things, you get a beginning, middle and a end. My case against Harry Potter isn’t that strong, but there were 7 book over about 10-11 years, so it’s not quite that same constant, and whilst the movie side doesn’t fair much better it’s more understandable to have the ‘rushed’ to completion as they wished to keep the same actors, with Harry being a boy wizard, too long and Daniel looks like Luke Perry in 90210, but changing actors could ruin the experience/series. Books as a medium are a little bit different, perhaps it’s simply the interactive nature of games which set them apart. ![]()
